Full automated Ovens loading/unloading system

At our facility, we faced a complex challenge: minimizing space usage within the production line while implementing an automated system capable of ensuring continuous, high-efficiency production with minimal risk of human error. This need led to the development of our new advanced thermal treatment system.

Phase 1: System Design
The system was designed with a compact and highly efficient configuration, consisting of eight vertical structures. The input and output modules are positioned at the ends, while the six central structures each house two ovens, arranged one above the other. This design maximizes the available space and optimizes the production flow.
Phase 2: Implementation of the RGV Transport System
Rack transportation is managed by a three-axis RGV (Rail-Guided Vehicle) capable of handling loads up to 500 kg. The movement system uses precision rails and a helical rack to ensure smooth and precise horizontal movements in front of the ovens.
Phase 3: Automated Operating Cycle
The system’s operating cycle is fully automated, ensuring efficiency and repeatability:
- The RGV picks up the rack from the input station.
- It moves horizontally along the rails, using the helical rack for precise motion.
- Upon reaching the designated oven, the RGV moves vertically to align with the correct level.
- The oven automatically opens its motorized door.
- The RGV inserts the rack into the oven.
- The oven automatically closes the door and starts the thermal cycle.
- At the end of the treatment, the door reopens automatically.
- The RGV retrieves the processed rack and transports it to the output station.
This configuration ensures fast and safe movements, reducing waiting times and maintaining a continuous thermal process flow.
Phase 4: Traceability and Quality Control
The system is equipped with an advanced batch traceability and thermal process-monitoring system. This ensures constant quality control, guaranteeing that each processed piece meets the required standards.
Phase 5: AGV Integration for Logistics
To further optimize efficiency, we have integrated the system with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) for logistics management. The process unfolds as follows:
- The operator loads racks with the parts to be treated onto external buffer modules.
- An AGV automatically transports the loaded racks from the buffer modules to the system’s input module.
- Once the thermal cycle is completed, the AGVs pick up the processed racks and transport them to the buffer modules for operator handling.
This integration allows for full automation of the system’s logistics, reducing human intervention and increasing overall productivity.
Conclusion: A New Standard of Efficiency
Thanks to this innovative system, we have achieved a new level of automation and precision in industrial thermal processes. The combination of automated transport, intelligent handling, and advanced traceability enables our clients to obtain high-quality results while reducing operating costs and improving production efficiency.
